Hi, Is there anyone out there currently going through or has gone through IVF? I have jsut been told my parnter and I will most likely need this treatment if we want to have children together.. If you have been successful, how many attempts did it take you, and what was the reason for IVF in the first place.

I was on a fertility program for fours years then did ivf and it took 4 attempts and i now have a beautiful 10 year old daughter. There is a book called BAttle of the Baby Gods which i recommened you read because it helps you understand all the feeling you and your partner are going through. Good Luck

Hi, We started IVF last Oct 2009. So far we've done 4 transfer & we are having trouble holding. I'm also doing acupuncture & herb as its full on with all the drugs you take. Ive been very luck that i've had no problems in that way. Stay positive.

HI Lauren, my partner and I are going through IVF now. We have had one failed attempt but we are going to try again next cycle. I have had numerous tests and the drs can find nothing wrong with me - it is very frustrating. Good luck with your baby plans.

Hi , I had IVF 24yrs ago and my son is 23yrs old now I only had one attempt at it so I know I was really lucky I needed IVF because I had only I tube and it was blocked .

Hi Lauren, Like Christina, my experience of IVF is 20 years ago but I'd like to add my encouragement and support. I needed 7 attempts before I had a beautiful boy and he's my one and only. I needed IVF because I had endometriosis and it had caused adhesions which blocked my tubes and ovaries. It's a challenge but so worth it. Keep positive and take good care of yourself mentally and physically. You'll get there!

Hi Lauren, my husband and I went through 2 stimulated ivf cycles and 5 frozen cycles before we finally fell pregnant with our now 2 y/o little boy. I didnt ovulate regularly and my hubby's sperm count was low, with high abnormalities, so while there was a tiny chance we could conceive naturally, our best option was ivf. Going through IVF was the hardest time in our life (topped only by finding out that our precious bundle had a heart condition requiring immediate surgery!) but we are both so glad we stuck at it. A combination of acupuncture, counselling and good friends helped us through the emotional ups and downs (acupuncture also helps the actual process of ivf). We are now about to start IVF again, so fingers crossed for a baby brother or sister!
