Winter is a time of hibernation, a time to stay inside and keep warm and comfortable. Some of us may not get outside to exercise as much as we would like to or eat as well as we could. It’s that time again. The weather is slowly beginning to turn colder and Jack Frost may be visiting your neighbourhood. It is this time of year that people become more aware of the threat of a cold or flu. People begin to avoid others who are sporting red noses, tissues up sleeves and that niggling cough.
I recently started up a boot camp programme. 6 weeks of up at 5:30 for a 6am-7am drill of exercise goodness. Now don’t get me wrong I love a good hard work out and thrive on exercise and the stress release it brings with it. However early starts 3 mornings a week is a whole new ball game.

I had a crazy week and was finally getting some rest and I thought for sure everything was catching up with me. However it was gone the next morning but only to reappear sporadically over the next few days...
What is the number one way to stop the spread of the flu? Hand washing! I know, it sounds so simple - but it's really important and may protect you and your family from getting the flu. When washing your hands - especially in the cold and flu season - be sure to follow these steps:
I have just rediscovered an old book in a weekend tidy up. It’s called the Fragrant Pharmacy by Valerie Ann Wood.
