Breastfeeding provides valuable nutritional and immunological benefits for bubs, and plenty of benefits for Mum too.

While breastfeeding can be a straightforward and easy ride for some mums, it’s not uncommon to hit a few bumps along the way. Our four-week plan is designed to help boost your breastfeeding confidence. 

During the four weeks, you’ll learn about different attachment styles, and how to find help and build your breastfeeding support system. We’ll also show you some simple lifestyle tweaks to help you stay fighting fit throughout your breastfeeding journey.

Actions

Boost your breastfeeding confidence by reading up on breastfeeding techniques and dealing with common breastfeeding issues that may arise. Note any concerns you’d like to discuss with your health care provider.
Sometimes you can feel unsure of how to handle an issue – or alone if you’re struggling. A support team is invaluable for these times. 

A combination of health professionals, lactation counsellors, friends or family experienced in breastfeeding, and a person you feel comfortable sharing your worries with is ideal. 


Rest and adequate water intake is key to maintaining your supply of breastmilk – and two things that can fall to the wayside in the early days of motherhood! 
It’s easy to fall back on snack foods while you’re rushed or tired, so keep plenty of  healthy snacks and freezer meals handy.
