Cardio, short for cardiovascular, is the type of fitness conditioning that predominately uses your heart and lungs. Its activity that makes you puff, using rhythmic and continuous movements such as walking, cycling, swimming, rowing or jogging. Performing these activities 3 – 5 times a week helps to build stamina, and burn body fat.

One important aspect of cardiovascular exercise is variety. It's the spice of life according to some. Incorporating a wide variety of cardio activities into your exercise schedule can maintain motivation while targeting different muscles and giving you a broader base of fitness.

When you focus on a variety of activities that you enjoy, you’re more likely to stick with it, and achieve your weight loss goals. Fortunately, there are plenty of cardio activities to choose from.

I can't add any more to the list but at the moment I am addicted to the interactive Expresso cycles at my local gym, the feedback you get from them being connected to the internet is incredible. I've gone from not doing enough cardio to doing 300 kilometres so far in October, it has certainly increased my fitness levels.
