Blackmores, one of the largest employers on the Northern Beaches, joined hands with local health, environmental and community organisations on Saturday 31 October to host the Blackmores Community Open Day at its Warriewood Campus.
Almost 4,000 guests enjoyed activities ranging from educational and green-living talks to factory tours and a kids’ fun zone complete with face painting, fluffy chickens and reptiles.
"Blackmores is proud to have helped showcase the amazing work of more than 25 community organisations providing critical health and welfare services across the peninsula,’ said Marcus Blackmore, Chairman of Blackmores. ‘As a local business we believe that charity starts at home and it was great to see people young and old engaging with and learning about these groups on the day.”
More than $26,000 was raised for charities who participated in the event, including Bear Cottage, Community Care (Northern Beaches), Bilgola Surf Life Saving Club, Be Centre, and Northern Beaches Interchange.
“Northern Beaches Interchange (NBI) were delighted to participate in the Blackmores Community Open Day. It was a fun day and an excellent opportunity to engage with the local community, increase awareness of our services supporting young people with disabilities and their families, and raise much needed funds to support our work,” said Carolyn McKay, CEO of NBI.
