PAW Denosyl®

Antioxidant liver support therapy. PAW Denosyl® is sold exclusively through veterinary clinics as adjunctive treatment for liver disease or dysfunction. FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY

This medicine may not be right for you. Read the warnings below before purchase. Follow directions for use. If symptoms persist, worsen or change talk to your health professional.

  • PAW Denosyl® contains S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), a precursor to the potent antioxidant Glutathione that protects hepatic cells from toxins and death. It is recommended to improve hepatic glutathione levels in patients to help maintain and protect liver function3,4. Denosyl® may also be used in other areas of tissue oxidative injury caused by certain toxins or drugs which are related to reduced glutathione concentrations.4 Denosy®, however, goes beyond increasing glutathione levels and has been shown to protect liver cells from cell death and may be useful in cell regeneration.1,5

    • Aids in liver detoxification mechanisms in dogs and cats
    • May be used in other areas of tissue oxidative injury and blood cell fragility caused by certain drugs
    • May protect against negative effects on the liver caused by some medications
    • Very high safety profile 1,3,4
    • Also supports healthy brain function in senior dogs
  • Denosyl® Ingredients

Contains the active ingredient S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) in an enteric coated tablet.

    Dosage

Absorption of Denosyl® is decreased when it is given with a meal. For optimal absorption, administer Denosyl® at least one hour before feeding your pet. For owners who find it difficult to administer tablets to their pets, Denosyl® tablet(s) may be disguised in a small bite of moist food. It is not necessary to withhold water from your pet when giving Denosyl®

In cats, tablets or capsules can “stick” in the throat instead of passing into the stomach. Therefore, cat owners should gently administer a small amount of water (ask your veterinarian for details) immediately following tablet administration to aid swallowing.

Denosyl® tablets should not be broken as the enteric coating of the Denosyl® tablet protects the active ingredient from destruction while in the stomach.

The number of tablets can be gradually reduced or increased at any time depending on the pet's needs. When increasing or decreasing the dose, adjustments should be done in full tablet increments.

Many pets are maintained long-term on every-other-day or every-third-day administration.
