Can you help me to check if the bottle blackmores is authentic? the batch No. is: 280379, and EXP. 08/09/18. I bought it from a local pharmacy store. Thank you very much.

Another question is why the company brand logo (BLACKMORES) font on the bottle is different to the one I bought before from Chemist Warehouse Australia.

I just bought odourless fish oil 1000 products, but after I observed this forum it turns out the product does not have a halal certificate. To be sure, I would like to ask whether the product is composed of not halal ingredients? Or purely made from halal ingredients but is in the process of legitimizing halal certificate. I still hope this product is pure halal because blackmores itself is quite concerned about halal product....

Can you please advise whether your Fish Oil contains any mercury, and whether it is safe to take during pregnancy?
Hi Blackmores

A number of studies have questioned the contents of fish oil as claimed by manufacturers.

A report yesterday by the ABC quoting a US study found that "the omega-3 or the desired part of the fish oil supplement only represented in many cases a third of the overall product, the other two-thirds being other fats, including significant levels of saturated fat." In addition "the other problem which is as serious is that we found that the omega-3 fatty acids themselves were generally oxidised…".

What testing does Blackmores carry out for oxidation and what processes has Blackmores put in place to reduce the amount of saturated fat when processing the fish into oils. Can you provide information on where and what fish are caught for use in Blackmores Fish Oil products, and where the processing takes place. As the report mentions, a number of companies source the fish product from South America which is then transported to China for processing.

I take Blackmores Fish Oil and am now concerned I am doing myself more harm than good.
