Here at Blackmores we are passionate about natural health and about inspiring people to take control of and invest in their health and wellbeing- and that includes our own.
The company was founded more than 80 years ago by pioneering naturopath Maurice Blackmore. His belief in the health-giving properties of herbs, minerals and vitamins, led him to develop a whole system of healthcare based on naturopathic principles.
His views on natural health, preventative medicine, the environment and recycling were nothing short of radical in the 1930s. This naturopathic heritage coupled with our continued commitment to support our community and to protect the environment has a strong influence on the way we operate today.
Since the very beginning, Blackmores has combined traditional naturopathic expertise with scientific research to help people with their health and wellbeing.
Launched in 2012, the Blackmores Institute is a centre of excellence for natural health research and education. Core activities include research funding, systematic reviews of natural medicine, and education programs.
Our long-term commitment to environmental and social responsibility includes partnering with stewards in sustainability, such as the World Wildlife Fund Sustainable Fish Oils Partnership, and supporting community organisations and initiatives.
The Blackmores Sydney Running Festival raises millions of dollars for numerous charities and also provides a great opportunity for the Blackmores family to come together and share in the spirit of the day with tens of thousands of other keen runners.
Our staff support additional community groups and fundraising and awareness activities throughout the year with matched donations, Blackmores product charity hampers and staff-driven fundraising initiatives.
