Leftover Turkey Bones Recipe

1 mins to read
There are lots of leftovers from your Christmas lunch that you can share with your pooch, so share the festive cheer by making your dog these Leftover Turkey "Bones"

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of leftover turkey meat, shredded
  • ½ cup of leftover doggy friendly cooked veggies (e.g. pumpkin, carrot, broccoli, green beans)
  • Water or low sodium chicken stock (make sure it’s onion and garlic free!)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups of spelt or buckwheat flour

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (160 degrees C for fan forced).

2. Blend meat, veggies and egg in a food processor or blender. Add enough liquid (water/stock) to bring the consistency to that of thick gravy.

3. Pour into a bowl and add enough flour to bring together into a workable dough.

4. Roll out to around 1cm thick, and cut out bone shapes (or any shape your doggy prefers!).

5. Bake in a preheated oven on a baking tray for 20 minutes or until golden.

6. Leave to cool in the oven (turned off) to harden.

Note: You can store these in a sealed container for up to 4 weeks.
