Stress .... does not go away easily when one has a child with a chronic illness and knowing that child may die in their sleep, one goes to bed each night with this on ones mind. Even taking oneself away from the situation does not eliminate the stressful situation, it is always there. I can recommend many of the activities suggested here, having tried most techniques, and the simplest thing is to just BREATHE! Long slow intake to fill ones lungs, hold 3 seconds and exhale smoothly and slowly, repeat 5 times. It just readjusts ones ability to slow down and think clearly. Best of luck to anyone else in the same situation, life does all work out in the end one day at a time.
