Kale

Kale is rich in antioxidants and potassium which may contribute to management of the heart muscle health, and it is also high in fibre to assist the management of cholesterol.

Oats

The beta-glucan fibre content in oats has been shown to help reduce LDL bad cholesterol, so start your day with oats as a porridge and mix with berries to really give your cardiovascular system some love.

Omega-3 from nuts and fish

These types of fats must be obtained from the diet as your body as can't make them. They are important to support a healthy heart by reducing inflammation and maintain healthy fats.

Cocoa

Unsweetened, pure cocoa contains antioxidant flavonoids which improves blood flow - try adding a spoonful to a smoothie with banana or yoghurt as a snack.
